Hi Asmita, My Mom is going through chemotherapy, and I am experiencing cognitive fatigue in my activities of daily living. It was nice to get your post. I am trying to find a balance between getting involved in social media so I don't feel lonely, and needing support and not wanting to be a burden on my friends and family.

Thanks Asmita, I appreciate your support! I'm having a hard time asking friends and family for support, I just need someone to chat with. I'm glad we met when I liked your comment on Anne Helen Peterson's thread and I've enjoyed reading your posts sinc ethen. It's so nice to feel supported by someone from the internet. That's a new experience for me :)

Oh, Rachel! I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. It sounds like a challenging time for you. I am glad you feel supported here. Mission accomplished!💛

However, I want to remind you that your friends are there for you too and would be more than happy to lend a helping hand during this difficult time. You don't have to carry the weight on your own. Lean on them for love and support, and let them be there for you.

I'm also grateful that we connected, and I appreciate you taking the time to read and share your feedback. :)

It's so hard when you have so many ideas and desires that you want to put out there, Asmita. It's really, really, *really* hard to do that without burning out. I front-load my posts. I knew I had to because it's too easy to burn out, or for life to happen. I decided that I would take a break each April, August and December on Substack and do a themed series of shorter posts for those months (of course, I decided this halfway through August so I paused this month instead...but will still take a pause in December instead of waiting for April). I did a podcast during lockdown. It was so much fun...and sooooooo much work. (I self-produced, edited, booked, pre-interviewed, promoted, did the website...it was a lot.) I'm happy to talk to you about that. But you will definitely want to front-load that, map out your topics, get a lists of guests, etc., etc., blah blah blah. But have FUN with it! Because it is fun. Excited for you. xo

Thank you for your wisdom, Sandra! I love and respect the clear and precise boundaries and breaks you define for yourself. I LOVE IT. You have inspired me to follow suit and take December off. I won't think twice about that, so thank you, dear friend. 💛

I will take you up on your offer to chat about the podcast. I hired a production company (the privilege to say take my money; gotta thank my tech job for that), hoping I could focus on just talking to people, and they would do the rest. However, providing those editing notes takes a lot of time and energy. Anyhow, I would love to get your perspective on this experience. I'll email you soon!🤗
