I really appreciate it, that you put this into a work context, because I have had similar situations where a very neutral or slight criticism has made me feel like I am a complete failure at work. Still dealing with it, but as other people have said it’s just nice to know that I’m not alone. I also have found that meds, help, somewhat, but it’s also having a good partner that helps me get through it.

I hear you! Our brains have difficulty with criticism or even the slightest hint of it. However, you are absolutely not alone in this!! I am glad you have the resources and a supportive partner to help you through those challenging moments. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and provide feedback; it means a lot.

This has been a great struggle for me. The amount of jobs I have lost because of perceived rejection and pain associated with it that I tried to overcompensate. Previously, when my partner would go out without me i took it as a rejection and then started the I might not be good enough never ending spiral. Now, I just repeat “progress over perfection” and “my feelings are not the fact.” I have pinned it on my story board or else I forget. ADHD (lol!)
